Paver Patios, Driveways and Walkways in Greenville

Jessamine Landscaping installs paver patios, walkways and driveways in Greenville, with the base and the drainage handled first. Behind one new build there, a long paver patio runs the length of a block wall, and a paver walk leads out to it. Next to a Greenville pool, a round paver patio with a dark border holds a fire pit. How much does paver installation cost in Greenville?

The price follows the square footage, how much ground has to be dug out, the base the ground needs, the paver you pick, how much slope and drainage work the yard calls for, and how accessible the project site is. Upstate red clay holds water, so the base and drainage get the work before the pavers do. Estimates are free, and you get the number after we see the yard.

Paver patios for Greenville new-build backyards

Most of our Greenville work is at new builds. At one, we laid the patio along the foot of the retaining wall, below a hill topped by new two-story homes, and set two small evergreens in river rock where the walk comes in.

By a Greenville pool we laid a round patio with a charcoal border course, big enough for a steel fire pit and four chairs. It meets the travertine pool deck on one side, and lawn wraps the other.

Fresh ground at a new build gets dug out and compacted before a single paver goes down. You see the layout marked before we cut anything.

What we've built in Greenville

  • Most of our Greenville jobs are at new builds.
  • Behind one new build we built a long block retaining wall with stepped ends to hold a sodded slope, then laid a wide paver patio and walk in front of it.
  • At a pool yard we laid a round paver fire pit patio with a block seat wall, and lit river rock beds edged in capped block.
  • Across the front of a new house we built a curved block wall that raises a river rock bed of arborvitae and shrubs.

Common Questions

What goes underneath the pavers?

A compacted stone base, built on ground that has been dug out to firm soil. The pavers sit on that base, not on dirt. Upstate red clay holds water, so the base has a second job, getting water out from under the patio. Proper materials and proper base prep are where we start every paver job.

Will the patio slope away from my house?

Yes. Water has to leave the patio and move away from the house, so the slope is set before the first paver goes down. We plan proper water drainage into every paver job.

Paver Installation

How We Work

  • Decades of experience. We bring decades of experience to every paver patio, driveway and walkway.
  • Base prep first. Proper materials and base prep under every paver, because the base decides how long the job lasts.
  • Proper water drainage. The slope and drainage are planned before the first paver goes down, so water leaves the patio.
