Outdoor Living Spaces

Jessamine Landscaping builds outdoor living spaces across Anderson and the Upstate: outdoor kitchens, fire pits, pergolas and gazebos. A space like that works when it is planned with the patio and the grade under it, so the structure sits level and water runs away from it. Tell us how you want to use the yard. Call us and we'll walk it with you.

How much does outdoor living cost in Anderson and the Upstate?

The price follows what you are building. A fire pit is one job, a kitchen with a pergola is another, and the base and grade under it add to the work. Estimates are free, and you get the number after we see the yard.

Why Call Jessamine for Outdoor Living

  • Family-owned. Lex Espinoza owns the company, and his father has done landscaping projects across the Upstate for over a decade.
  • Free estimates. We look at the space and give you an estimate at no cost.
  • The whole space in one project. Patio, wall, planting and fire pit from one company, so one crew plans how they fit together.

Why do fire pits and pergolas settle or tilt?

  • Built on an unlevel base. A fire pit or a pergola post on loose or uneven ground settles and tilts. We build on a level, compacted stone base.
  • Built before the drainage is planned. Water runs under and around the structure and washes out the ground beneath it. We plan the grade and the drainage first, then build.
  • Pieces planned by different crews. One crew lays the patio, another adds the wall, a third plants, and none of it fits. We build the pavers, walls and planting ourselves, so one call covers the whole space.

"Lex and his team did a great job with our backyard. From a new sprinkler system, sod, shrubs and a fire pit, all of it was done timely and with great care. Lex is very hands on. I would highly recommend them and plan to use them again in the future."

"We had a solid experience with Jessamine Landscape when we converted a large planter area into a fire pit and sitting area. They were very flexible when it came to the design, efficiently (only 2 days start to finish) removed all the existing plants, made adjustments to the irrigation system, leveled the space, and installed the stone and poles. We now have a great outdoor fire pit and seating area. Thanks for their hard work and help with this project, all done at a fair price."

Common Questions

What goes under a fire pit, outdoor kitchen or pergola?

A level, compacted stone base, the same idea as a patio, so the structure does not settle or tilt under its weight. A kitchen counter or a pergola post carries far more than a patio chair does.

Can you build the patio, wall and fire pit as one project?

Yes. We build the pavers, the walls and the planting ourselves, so the whole space is planned together and handled with one call.

Where should the fire pit go on a sloped yard?

On level ground, away from the house and from low branches, on a base it cannot settle into. If your yard slopes, a retaining wall or a paver patio can make the level spot for it.

Pergola or gazebo?

A pergola has an open, slatted roof and gives partial shade. A gazebo has a solid roof and gives full cover from sun and rain. We install both. Pick by how much cover you want.
