Outdoor Living Spaces in Seneca
Jessamine Landscaping builds outdoor kitchens, fire pits, pergolas and gazebos in Seneca, and each one stands on a level compacted base. Our Seneca crew graded the ground around a covered stage and pavilion, then finished it in sod with river rock beds. A backyard space starts the same way: level ground, then the structure. The price follows what you are building. A fire pit is one job, a kitchen with a pergola is another, and the base and grade under it add to the work. Estimates are free, and you get the number after we see the yard.

Getting a Seneca backyard ready for a fire pit or gazebo
At a Seneca park we sodded the lawn around a covered stage, a green-roofed pavilion and a timber pergola, and put it all on sprinklers. Bollard lights line the walks between them.
At home, the order doesn't change. We grade and compact first, then build the fire pit, kitchen, pergola or gazebo on top so it stays level. You tell us where you want to sit and how many chairs, and we sketch it out on the ground.

What we've built in Seneca
- Around a covered stage in a Seneca park, we sodded the lawn and put pop-up sprinklers in it, down to the curved terraces between low concrete walls.
- Along the walks we built river rock beds of young trees and low shrubs, and each new tree on the open grass got its own mulch ring.
- We took the park lawn from graded red clay to finished sod.
Common Questions
What goes under a fire pit, outdoor kitchen or pergola?
A level, compacted stone base, the same idea as a patio, so the structure does not settle or tilt under its weight. A kitchen counter or a pergola post carries far more than a patio chair does.
Where should the fire pit go on a sloped yard?
On level ground, away from the house and from low branches, on a base it cannot settle into. If your yard slopes, a retaining wall or a paver patio can make the level spot for it.
"We had a solid experience with Jessamine Landscape when we converted a large planter area into a fire pit and sitting area. They were very flexible when it came to the design, efficiently (only 2 days start to finish) removed all the existing plants, made adjustments to the irrigation system, leveled the space, and installed the stone and poles. We now have a great outdoor fire pit and seating area. Thanks for their hard work and help with this project, all done at a fair price."

How We Work
- Family-owned. Lex Espinoza owns the company, and his father has done landscaping projects across the Upstate for over a decade.
- Free estimates. We look at the space and give you an estimate at no cost.
- The whole space in one project. Patio, wall, planting and fire pit from one company, so one crew plans how they fit together.
